Innovation makes an essential contribution to competitiveness for products themselves as well as business processes and methods in areas such as eco-design, energy saving and the use of renewables.

Carbon footprints: 14 businesses did a carbon footprint analysis in 2010, including in-company assessment and sharing of action plans. A second group is now being created.

The first group gave rise to two workshops: Eco-design (products, industrial processes and facilities) and Energy Management Systems, designed to help users take control of their energy outlays (water, electricity, steam, cooling fluids).

National Health and Nutrition Plan: Leader of working group for healthcare services, regional food and agriculture authorities, representatives of French retailers and wholesalers, university hospital and professional associations for meat, dairy and other products.

Aims: analyze the nutritional needs of different population and age groups; draw up nutrition charts.
